Important Dates

We’re reaching out to keep you informed about important upcoming changes to the aged care sector that may impact your organisation’s operations.

As part of the aged care reform, the Australian Government is introducing the Support at Home Program, which will gradually replace several existing programs over the coming years.

At CareMaster, we’re actively analysing these changes to ensure our software evolves in line with the new requirements. Over the coming months, we’ll keep you updated via email and our dedicated blog, sharing key developments and what they mean for your organisation.

We’re committed to supporting you through this transition and look forward to navigating these changes together.

Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme

From 1 July 2025

  • Support at Home will replace the Home Care Packages Program and the Short-Term Restorative Care Programme.
  • Support at Home providers must be registered into relevant registration categories to deliver their participants’ services.
  • In-home aged care providers can continue to set their own prices for Support at Home services. This is what currently occurs in the Home Care Packages (HCP) Program.

From 1 July 2026

  • Government set price caps will apply.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

From 1 July 2025

  • There will be changes to the way CHSP services are described, regulated, and delivered, and there will be a standardised service list across all in-home aged care programs, with some exceptions.
  • DEX reporting requirements are changing to ensure services align with the proposed CHSP service list and to improve visibility of services being accessed by clients.
  • More information will be shared in the lead-up to 1 July 2025.

From 1 July 2027

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) will transition to Support at Home no earlier than 1 July 2027. However, CHSP providers will be covered by the new Aged Care Act from 1 July 2025. Providers will need to adhere to the new regulatory framework (registration model) from this date.

CareMaster Team

As new information continues to emerge, the CareMaster team remains committed to keeping you informed. We’ll share updates on our software enhancements in preparation for 1 July 2025, along with helpful insights to support your business through the transition.
