Movement Five was founded by Kaela Asquith and her husband, both former schoolteachers with a passion for health and fitness. What began as personal training sessions in their gym quickly evolved as participants started requesting more holistic support—asking for help with cooking, outings, and daily activities. Recognising the broader impact they could have, the couple transitioned into NDIS support work, building a business that combines fitness, social connection, and wellbeing. Today, Movement Five operates as a thriving support service grounded in the five pillars of health: physical, social, mental, Spiritual, and emotional wellbeing.
The team at Movement Five is grounded in the “five pillars of health”—physical, social, mental, Spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. By integrating structured fitness programs with individualised community access and support services, participants are encouraged to lead healthier, more independent lives.
Participants aren’t just “clients”—they’re active members of their own support journey. Many engage in regular weekly fitness routines, community outings, and personal development activities. The team has observed a strong sense of ownership among participants, many of whom are deeply committed to their goals and routines. This culture of empowerment is core to how Movement Five operates and aligns directly with the NDIS focus on choice, control, and independence.
In early 2024, Movement Five transitioned to CareMaster, after outgrowing their previous software and manual processes. Their goal was to find a scalable, user-friendly solution to manage participant services, staff, and compliance.
Movement Five runs many group programs, including gym sessions and community-based activities. With CareMaster, they can now assign participants to groups, provide services under different line items, and seamlessly export data to Xero for efficient NDIS claiming.
From onboarding new participants to managing documents and tracking care notes, everything is centralised. Support workers at Movement Five can easily access participant details on the go, including clicking on addresses or viewing plans from the mobile app. This saves admin time and increases frontline efficiency.
“What really stood out to us was how user-friendly the platform is. The app makes it easy to access participant documents, view addresses, and navigate information quickly. Having everything stored in one place, with a clean and intuitive admin view, has made a huge difference for our team.” — Kaela Asquith| Founder
For participants, routine and engagement are key—and technology plays an important role in making that routine stick. Many Movement Five participants use the CareMaster app to stay connected to their programs and activities, particularly those involving regular gym sessions or group-based outings. The structure and consistency offered through the app help reinforce positive habits and empower participants to take ownership of their schedules. Since introducing the Participant app, participants no longer need to reach out to staff to confirm session times—they can view their schedule at any time, reducing back-and-forth communication and increasing independence. All new participants are now onboarded with the CareMaster participant app as part of their welcome process, ensuring they’re set up from day one to take an active role in their support journey.
The team at Movement Five highlighted how critical the CareMaster app has been in supporting frontline staff. Support workers can easily access participant information while out in the community—including clicking on addresses for navigation, viewing documents, and reviewing care details—all directly from the app. They can also view their upcoming rosters, manage their own documents, and communicate through the in-app chat about participant needs, making it easier to stay organised and informed. This seamless access has improved both efficiency and confidence, allowing support workers to focus more on delivering quality support and less on admin. The intuitive interface also shortens the learning curve for new staff, ensuring everyone has the tools they need right at their fingertips.
Scaling sustainably has been essential. CareMaster’s intuitive interface and reliable support team have helped Movement Five maintain high standards of care. Ongoing support and training are always available, keeping operations running smoothly.
The Movement Five model encourages active community engagement, physical and mental wellbeing, and ongoing skill-building—all central to the NDIS outcomes framework. Technology has helped them document progress, monitor outcomes, and stay compliant while focusing on what matters most: participant goals.
Movement Five has shown a strong commitment to mastering every aspect of CareMaster, consistently seeking to understand and utilise the platform to its fullest potential. Their proactive approach to learning—whether through the AI-driven Help Centre, training sessions, exploring new features, or refining internal processes—demonstrates a clear commitment to operational excellence. This eagerness to learn has allowed them to maximise the software’s capabilities, streamline their workflows, and deliver even better outcomes for their participants.
Movement Five is an NDIS provider delivering holistic, participant-focused support services that empower individuals to thrive physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and Spiritually. Founded by a passionate husband-and-wife team of educators and personal trainers, Movement Five blends structured fitness, meaningful community access, and a commitment to genuine connection. With a team of dedicated support workers and a strong foundation in the five pillars of health, Movement Five creates personalised programs that support long-term wellbeing and independence.
