New Aged Care Bill Passes Parliament

On 25 November 2024, the Australian Parliament passed the Aged Care Bill — a key reform from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

The new Act takes effect from 1 July 2025, shifting to a more compassionate, person-centred system. Award wage increases for aged care workers begin in January 2025, delivering a well-earned boost across the sector. CareMaster released the Award update ahead of 1 January to support providers with their first 2025 pay cycle. It’s available now in our award interpretation payroll software.

We’re here to help you navigate these changes and continue delivering quality care.
